🎥 Platform Overview

Brightcove

Brightcove offers premium control over your video content, including visibility settings and custom thumbnail selection. However, it comes with streaming fees. If you're using Brightcove, those costs are passed through based on our licensing agreement with you.

YouTube

YouTube is completely free, but it has some functional limitations compared to Brightcove. Still, it's a great option for many clients.

Vimeo

Vimeo is a powerful platform for teams looking for a balance between control and simplicity. To use Vimeo inside Hussle, some setup is required (covered below).

🖼 How to Change a YouTube Thumbnail

YouTube automatically assigns one of three thumbnail options when you upload a video. Here’s how to customize your thumbnail:

1. Go to YouTube Creator Studio

2. Choose your video

3. Click Edit

4. If your account is not verified, you’ll see a message saying you’re ineligible to upload thumbnails

5. Click “Learn more” → then “Verify account”

6. Enter your phone number and submit the verification code

7. Once verified, go back to the video and click the fourth option: “Change Image”

8. Upload your custom thumbnail (ideal size: 1920x1080)

👉 Tip: Use screenshot tools or design software to create your own thumbnail. You can add text, logos, or branding elements to match your look.

🔒 Which YouTube Video Listings Are Supported?

YouTube offers four listing types:

• Public

• Unlisted

• Private

• Scheduled

Hussle supports:

• Public videos – fully shareable through the app

• Unlisted videos – viewable in the app but not shareable

🔐 Note: Private and Scheduled videos are not supported. If you're using Unlisted listings, users can still watch the content inside the app but cannot see or share the video URL. This is ideal for internal training content.

🎬 How to Use Vimeo with Hussle

To use Vimeo-hosted videos inside the app, you need to generate an Access Token with the right permissions. Follow these steps:

Step-by-Step Setup:

1. Log into your Vimeo account

2. Go to https://developer.vimeo.com

3. Navigate to My Apps

4. Click Create App

5. Generate an Access Token using these settings:

   • Authenticated (you)

   • Scopes: public, private, video_files

⚠️ Important: Vimeo only shows this token once. Copy it before you leave the page — if you lose it, you'll need to generate a new one.

Once generated, just send the token to Hussle. That’s it — you’re ready to stream.
