Why do I need to enable Vaults in settings to start using the keyboard? (Android)

Enable your Vaults keyboard to make it easy to share your custom content from the app to your favorite social channels.

Each operating system (Android / iOS) has a slightly different but standard disclaimer message shown up when you install a keyboard extension such as Vaults.
 
Can Vaults see my sensitive information?
 
Vaults can only see the content you store on the app or send with it. Anything you type with your regular keyboard cannot be seen or tracked by Vaults.
 
*Android displays the same warning for all third-party keyboards.
